Developer Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

This policy is for developers who apply to work with Codemistry ("we", "our" or "us"), a web and app development agency in India, and for approved developers who use the Developer Area on codemistry.in. It explains what personal information we collect about you, why, who can see it and the choices you have. It adds to our general Privacy Policy. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws.

2. Information we collect when you apply

• Contact details: your full name, email address and mobile number.
• Mobile verification: we send a one-time code (OTP) by SMS to confirm the number belongs to you.
• Professional profile: your headline, short bio, skills, years of experience and any GitHub, LinkedIn or portfolio links you give us.
• Resume: the PDF or Word file you upload, if you choose to attach one.

3. Information we collect once you are approved

• Your account: the password you set. It is stored only in encrypted (hashed) form; we can never see it.
• Project work: the projects assigned to you, progress updates, notes and the files you submit.
• Team chat: messages, voice notes, images and files you send to the Codemistry team.
• Payments: your agreed payout for each project and the record of payments made to you.
• Security logs: sign-in times, IP address and device or browser details, used to keep your account safe.

4. How we use your information

• To review your application, check your skills and experience, and decide whether to approve it.
• To contact you about your application by email, phone or WhatsApp, and to send your account setup link.
• To match you with suitable projects, share requirements with you and track progress.
• To calculate and record your payouts.
• To keep the Developer Area secure, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

5. Who can see it

• Codemistry administrators only. Your application, resume and contact details are visible only to our admin team.
• Clients do not see you. Clients never see your name, email, phone number or payout. All client communication passes through the Codemistry team.
• Service providers: our hosting company (servers, database and email) and our SMS provider (for OTP codes) process data on our behalf and may use it only to provide that service.
• The law: we may share information if required by law, a court order or a government authority.

6. How long we keep it

• Applications that are not approved: kept for up to 12 months, in case a suitable opening comes up, and then deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
• Approved developers: kept while your account is active. If you leave, we delete your profile and resume, but keep project and payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require.

7. How we protect it

• All traffic to codemistry.in is encrypted (HTTPS).
• Resumes are stored privately on our server, outside the public website, and can be downloaded only by a signed-in administrator.
• Passwords are hashed, sign-in attempts are rate-limited, and signing out or changing your password ends your other sessions.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.

8. Your responsibilities as a developer

While working on Codemistry projects you may see client information, such as business details, logins, source code or customer data. You agree to:

• use it only for the project you are assigned to;
• not share, copy or keep it after the project ends, unless we ask you to;
• not contact clients directly outside the Codemistry platform;
• tell us at once if you think client information has been lost or exposed.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to:

• give you a summary of the personal information we hold about you;
• correct or update information that is wrong or out of date;
• delete your application or account (records the law requires us to keep are excluded);
• withdraw your consent. Withdrawing consent means we can no longer process your application or assign you projects.

To use any of these rights, email support@codemistry.in from the email address you applied with. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within 30 days.

10. Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to apply as a developer.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will let approved developers know by email.
